Principles

So, Namby and I have decided that we are boycotting the summer olympics. Well, most of it, anyway. Because we have principles! Welllll, I actually really enjoy gymnastics (all little girls grow up thinking they are going to be some famous olympic gymnast, I am pretty sure) so I might watch that. Oh, and swimming. Anyone who grew up in AZ likes swimming. So I am boycotting like 95% of the olympics. But as Namby pointed out, due to some ridiculous time zone constraints, we can say we are watching none of it!!! And still be mostly telling the truth. So I am going with that. Yep. Oh and, UNC, really??? Thanks for nothing.

Let's face it, Olympics aren't really Olympics unless it has the word "Winter" in front of it.

Vancouver 2010 here I come!

Hmm, going to go ahead and disagree with you there. I am a warm weather type of person. Plus, we generally win the summer olympics - winter seems to be more of a struggle. I only like winners.

I'll allow you to disagree with me. I love warm weather too, but Summer Olympic events bore me to death. Actually, so do most Winter Olympic events, but only one of them has hockey. So, there's that.

And there's something cozy about winter evenings in the snowy mountains, getting toastily drunk. That's why people go skiing, right? That's what we'll do if I ever get invited to go skiing with you, right?

I never thought I'd agree with Hilary Clinton on well, anything. But she's got the whole Olympics boycott thing right. Given that I have no interest in these Olympics, plus my hatred for the Chinese government, you can count me out.

Have to agree with Eddie on the Winter Olympics. Hockey is king. And a very good friend of mine might be skating in the next go-'round of winter games.

Olympics suck, but winter games outsuck the summer games. At least in the summer you get to watch the NBA stars get all out ass-reamed by a bunch of pasty, bony Eastern Europeans... and soccer is a good watch too.
