On Moping.

Man, I am just all sorts of chatty today. Anyway, I am great at moping. I have it down to a science. Not that I am a mopey person per se, but I know how to get it done. And tonight was feeling like a mopey-ish night, so I got prepared. Did my workout at the gym (exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy, and happy people just don't kill their husbands! erm, not that I have a husband . . .), headed over to the grocery to buy a bottle (okay, fine, 2 bottles) of champagne, brie, and the makings of my killer banana bread to go with viewing the Hills (multiple times).

But then I got home. And the first thing I saw was the present Eddie sent me today. An air purifier because he knows I haven't been sleeping well. He knew I was never going to actually buy one for myself (because whenever he mentioned it I just sort of mumbled something about Ryan Adams) so he and HASWOE cooked up a plot to ship me one. I am all sorts of excited to use it.
Then I popped in the "Anonymous Hottie Mix" that Daisy made to remind me that I am awesome (it is mostly excellent artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, and Ashlee Simpson - great mopey girl music - and yes, we make each other mix cds because that is what friends DO). And it immediately made me bop around my kitchen.
Then I opened my (first) bottle of champagne, and it reminded me of my afternoon with my friend Suresh this weekend. He told me that one of his favorite things about me is that I "drink champagne like most people drink beer" - which is totally and completely accurate. I love champagne. So that put a smile on my face.
Next I slathered some brie (damn Jewel for only having double creme, I KNEW I should have gone to Whole Foods) on peppered crackers and topped them with craisins and really you just cannot go wrong with brie and crackers and fruit.
And now I am sitting here, waiting for my amazing banana bread to finish baking so that I might slather some brie on a piping hot piece and complete my amazing! Monday! night!
Oh, and Murphy taught himself how to bounce a tennis ball against a wall and then catch it - which drives me insane but is too cute for words.

So all in all, my crappy mopey night is turning into a fabulous celebratory evening. Thanks friends - I appreciate it.

I think it's adorable that you're making 'practice' banana bread, just to make sure it hits perfection by the time you bake some for me.

And your air purifier will also protect you from your mold disease. Should I not have mentioned that you are moldy? Sorry. But you won't be after using your new toy :)

And Murphy is awesome - maybe he needs a puppy brother or sister to play with?
